At Oneighty I oversee three ministries that range from students in 6th grade all the way to College Senior. Our entire staff absolutely loves coming up with ideas and opportunities that allow teenagers and young adults to have a great time, be a are part of the family and most importantly hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
Tonight is one of those opportunities.
Varsity is our ministry to 11th grade thru College Senior and we are having a Movie Night. We served a complete meal from a terrific Italian restaurant, showed the Dark Night, and rapped things up by opening up our 90,000 sq. ft. facility for games and activities.
We are using this community night to not only have a great time, but also to advertise for our new teaching series at Varsity entitled "Explicit", where we will talk about Culture and a Christian World View.
This is going to be a ton of fun!

Here are some notes from the message David Hughes just spoke here at C3.
If you are a Pastor you need to have a big ask. Go for the big ask.
Things you need to ask for.
Show Up.
“Philimon 1:2 “…to the church that meets …”
Be generous.
Generousity is bigger than ecomomic factor.
The driving factor in generousity is not the economy, it is love.
Generousity has no limit when your love has no limit.
Leverage Everything for Evangelism.
We need to be addicted to people being saved.
Jesus said leave the 99 to reach the 1.
Be Self Feeders
People that are babies don’t feed themselves.
Ask your team to work hard.
Treat every series launch like its Easter, treat Big Evens like it is the second coming.
Ask for help
You need people to help.

Last night after the C3 nights session, I got invited to go hang with some youth pastors from all around the country. It was a really cool thing.
Mr. Draper, a businessman, that attends Fellowship Church opened the doors of his AMAZING house, brought in tons of food and let us have run of the place. He and his family were extremely gracious to us all. Thanks Mr. Draper, you are a true blessing to God's kingdom.
Myself and Sam, my J-High Youth Pastor sat and talked with youth leaders from Free Chapel, Healing Church, Celebration Church, Victory Christian Center, Fellowship Church and more. We talked about life, family, how our ministries function, what works, what doesn't work, it was a youth ministry free for all.
What an honor to rub shoulders with these guys.
Whenever you get the chance to meet with other leaders and people in your field of endeavor, jump at the chance. Because you never know who you will meet, you never what what you might learn.
Thanks Chris for the invite and thanks Mr. Draper for allowing us to raid your home.

C3 has been great. There are to many good quotes to write down. Here are a few.
"Here's a Saints hat for the guy who let me cut in line in the bathroom a few minutes ago."....Dino Rizo
"Stay on the wall." .......Ed Young
"Some days in ministry you are the big dog, other days you are the fire hidrant."....Jentezen Franklin
"U B U" ..Ed Young
"It all starts with a servants heart. At my church we preach and park. The guy who preaches from the platform one week, is in the parking lot parking cars the next.".....Dino Rizzo
"You hired me to be the Youth Pastor, why am I taking care of your dry cleaning?" Sam Chan
"To many people wander in the waaa waaaa".....Ed Young (who else would it be?)

I'm having a great time here at C3. Hanging with my staff and the entire team at Church on the Move has been thru the roof. Tons of fun.
Each session amazing men and woman of God take the stage, tell their story, share a nugget or two of truth. It's incredible. However, as I sit and listen to these generals of the gospel, I begin to realize, they are no different than me.
Here is what I mean by that.
The speaker came from humble beginnings.....so do I.
The speaker loves Jesus ...so do I.
The speaker has to learn from his mistakes ... so do I.
The speaker has a call of God on his life ...so do I.
The speaker has unique gifts and talents, given to him by God...so do I.
As I sit in my chair, looking up at this amazing speaker, pastor, that is experiencing God's grace and growth, it is hitting me ....he is no different than me.
And you know what he is no different than you. Sometimes we feel like what God is doing thru these giants of the faith, he could never do thru us and you know what ...we are wrong.
God is no respecter of person.
God is not willing that any should perish.
That is why God has made you who you are and placed you where you are.
He wants to do amazing exploits thru you.
Here's something I think we should try.
Lets not honor our humble beginnings, love Jesus with all our heart, learn from our mistakes and use our unique giftings to fulfill the call God has placed on our life.
We'll be glad we did.

Well this morning Ed gave his first message of the conference, as usual it was great stuff. Besides the snappy clothes, watching his new rap video, yes I said rap video, and constant rhyming, Ed rhymed more in one hour than any human has ever rhymed on planet earth before, Ed gave me a ton of things to think about and work on in the ministry God has called me to.
Here are my notes from Ed’s talk.
Iguana’s have incredible vision. They see 70x more than human beings. They also have a 3rd eye on the back of their head. Because of this Iguana’s see amazingly well.
As Leaders we need to be like the Iguana. We have to not only have great vision, we need to look at the right stuff. We need to focus on the right target.
What is the Target God has given you?
When God gives you a target and you go after the target, eventually you will become the target. You will become the target of opposition.
It is beautiful and also brutal.
Here are a few laws of leadership from Nehemiah.
Law of investigation.
Nehemiah asked the right questions to the right people.
You have to be people that investigate. Leaders ask. Period.
He asked his friends.
He asked God.
He asked the King.
Questions are organic.
Find people in your life that you can ask questions too. Put the answers thru your creative filter and God will use that to build your target – your bull’s-eye.
Law of preparation
Nehemiah prayed.
He prayed long prayers, short prayers, he just prayed.
When you pray you face the issue you are up against.
Nehemiah prayed …then he acted.
He went to the King and asked permission for the provision.
God has the provision for his vision …but you’ve got to ask.
You have to put a premium on talking about tithes and offerings.
You have to go after the target (reflect the glory of God) build the church – you can’t do that without money.
Law of Multiplication.
Target moves from HE to ME to WE.
Do you share your vision? You need to say it, spray it, wheel it deal it, make them feel it.
Who are the WE in your life? You only really need two or three trusted people.
Who are they? You’ve got to have the right they. How do you know who is the right they…. they are always have HE in the middle.
As a leader we have opportunity to see people and use their natural aptitudes and abilities.
Law of OVATION.
Give people the props – if you think it text it – if you think it blog it – if you think it say it to them.
Are you working hard? Or is what your doing hardly working?

I'm up early this morning and ready for the day. Here is today's schedule.
Eat an incredible edible omlet from the Embassy Suite Hotel. I'm telling ya - "ain't know body does an omlet" like the Embassy. Seriously, it's incredible.
Get to the conference early and and check out all the book tables from the speakers.
Have Ed rip my face off in session one of the conference.
Have my staff put my face back on in between sessions.
Get my face ripped off again in session two.
Give up on putting face back on again, and just go out to eat with my crew (We are men of simple pleasures, so the food-court at the mall will do).
Hit a couple more sessions of C3.
Hang out with my crew as well as walk the halls and talk to people attending the conference. (I love meeting new people)
Hit C3 nights.
Go to a Youth Pastors get together after the final session of the day.
Come back to the Hotel and get ready to do it all over again on Friday.
Wow, that's not a bad day.
In fact today just might be at a Hol-Notha-Level!

Here is an overview of what Jentzen Franklin just spoke at C3.
Lev. 21:20
He that has a call on his life…don’t tear your holy garments.
Scripture says not to tear your garments however…
Job, tore his clothes when suffering came.
David, tore his clothes when Abner was killed
Joshua and Caleb, tore their clothes when missed opportunity to attack.
In scripture, when people did not know how to express themselves during times of deep sorrow, they tore there clothes. When they felt there was no hope, no solution, no way out, they tore their garments.
God seemed to be fine with Job, David, Joshua and Caleb, tearing their clothes, feeling hopeless in the situations they found themselves in. However, in Leviticus 21:20 he told the Priest this was not acceptable.
Why?
“Tearing our garments” as Pastors is to say that my problem is to BIG for God.
As Priest and Ministers we are to NEVER feel hopeless. We are to never feel like its over. We are to never feel that there is “no use to go on”. Because (tearing your garments) giving up, is to say that my issue, my problem, is way to hard for God.
In Ministry, you will experience grief. You will experience pain. You will experience failure. You will experience frustration. You will experience betrayal. But don’t ever give up. Never, let go. Never, quit. Don’t tear your clothes.
In ministry, there will be days where you are the big dog and there will be other days where you are the fire-hidrant.
Here is a word of advice...If you are looking for life without pain, if you are looking for a life without pressure, DON’T GET IN MINISTRY.
There will be things that come into you life that (if you allow them that will allow them) will cause you to tear your ministry to pieces.
Elijah experienced amazing things from the Lord. However, after a season of amazing miracles Elijah saw that he was a wanted man. When he realized the Queen wanted to kill him, Elijah went out under a Juniper Tree and tore his clothes.
It was right after the tearing of his Clothes, that God told Elijah to appoint your successor. His ministry was over because he “tore his clothes”. He gave up.
Joel 2:13Tear your hearts, but not your garments.
The bottom line is this. Tough times are going to come. Tough people are going to hurt you. Tough situations will try and tear you to pieces. However, when those things come…open your heart before the Lord, but refuse to give up.
